2/11 - 12/31 Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicaid and NJ Family Care.

Sorting through the new insurance options under the Affordable Care Act can be overwhelming, but help is on the way.

NJ Hospital Association has hired a team of U.S. veterans who have been trained in a new mission: helping New Jersey residents explore their health insurance options. These veterans have been trained as Certified Application Counselors, prepared to assist individuals in comparing and signing up for new health insurance plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace, Medicaid and NJ Family Care.

Rotations of CACs will be available to assist individuals on a drop-in basis (no appointments).

In Monmouth County, assistance will be available every Tuesday from 12:30 - 4 pm at CentraState Medical Center, 901 West Main Street, Freehold, NJ 07728

You will have access to Education, Enrollment Assistance, Spanish language assistance.

For more info: N.J. Townes, 609-480-8834, ntownes@njha.com (Monmouth team lead).

Additional locations being added, please check www.njha.com/reform/find-a-navigator/ for latest schedule.

Some families and individuals will qualify for tax credits or subsidies that will make their coverage more affordable. To help the CACs better explore your options with you, come prepared with information such as: • Social Security numbers (or document numbers for legal immigrants) • Birthdates • Pay stubs, W-2 forms or “Wage and Tax Statements” • Policy numbers for any current health insurance • Information about any health insurance available through your job, if you are currently employed.

This service is made available through a special initiative from the New Jersey Hospital Association and New Jersey Health Initiatives, with financial support provided by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The CACs will be working in hospitals and other sites across the state. Visit www.njha.com/reform/gethelp to learn more about this program and see the CACs’ full schedule throughout NJ.

Thousands to walk in solidarity throughout the state of New Jersey

The New Jersey AIDS Walk, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 organization which collaborates with several New Jersey cities that are home to leading HIV/AIDS service organizations.

This year’s walk will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2014.

Walks in all five cities are open to the public and registration is free.  Walks will take place in Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Morristown, Newark and Ridgewood. A unified step-off in all cities will be at 1 p.m.

Collaborating AIDS service providers organizing and hosting this year’s walk include: Buddies of New Jersey (Ridgewood), New Jersey AIDS Services (Morristown), North Jersey Community Research Initiative (Newark), South Jersey AIDS Alliance (Atlantic City), and the Center in Asbury Park (Asbury Park).

New Jersey has the fifth highest rate of HIV infection in the country.  With more than 35,000 people currently living with HIV/AIDS in New Jersey, we have never needed community support more.

Join us in fighting this pandemic by supporting the thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS in the Garden State by walking with us in the 2014 New Jersey AIDS Walk.

For more information on how to get involved as a walker or volunteer, please visitwww.NJAIDSWalk.org and click on the walk location you wish to support.
