In the not-so-distant future, Dawson Leary will give up his dreams of becoming the next Steven Spielberg and become an FBI Agent.
OK, maybe not, but James Van Der Beek has signed on for a starring role in CBS’s “CSI: Cyber,” according to the official press release.
When the show debuts in the spring, the “Dawson’s Creek” alum will portray FBI Agent Elijah Mundo, a “self-proclaimed action junkie” who is an expert in all things related to weaponry.
“We are excited to welcome an actor of James Ver Der Beek’s caliber to 'CSI: Cyber.' Over his career, he has demonstrated a tremendous range of talent that makes him a perfect addition to our gifted cast,” the show’s executive producers said in the statement.
Van Der Beek joins a cast that includes Patricia Arquette (“Medium”), Gil Bellows, Peter MacNicol and Charley Koontz.
In the years since “Dawson’s Creek” came to an end, Van Der Beek went on to series regular roles on “Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23” and last season’s “Friends with Better Lives.”
While Michelle Williams probably can’t make room in her schedule, expect a “Creek” crossover with Meredith Monroe or Kerr Smith come November sweeps.
