September is only days away, which means the broadcast networks are frantically preparing for the beginning of fall TV.
Producers for few shows are getting a head-start by releasing their pilots online early, and FOX’s “Red Band Society” is the latest to hit the web.
As a tie-in for the show, which centers on a group of teens living in a hospital for various health reasons, the pilot has hit the web for 100 hours after fans raised more than $100,000 for charity with a FOX-sponsored contest.
After that, the Octavia Spencer-starring show will make its regular debut on Wednesday, September 17 at 9pm.
Two other shows are vying for early attention, NBC’s “A to Z” and ABC’s “Selfie.”
The former is a romantic comedy starring Ben Feldman (“Mad Men”) and “The Mother” from “How I Met Your Mother,” Cristin Milioti, and the series will officially bow on Thursday, October 2.
He’s sentimental, she’s pragmatic, and sparks fly when they meet at the dating app company he works for.
“Selfie,” on the other hand, is an update of “My Fair Lady” that will premiere on Tuesday, September 30 at 8pm.
Karen Gillan (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) plays a woman who “cares more about ‘Likes’ than being liked,” before meeting Henry (John Cho), who offers to help her be a better person.
