Rip current risks at the Jersey Shore Monday

Swimmers are urged to use caution along the Jersey shore.  A high risk for rip currents is in effect through Monday evening, in part, caused by Tropical Storm Cristobal, swirling in the Atlantic.  Though it's not a threat to the East Coast, the National Weather Service says a surf height of 3 to 5 feet along with the wind will combine to create dangerous swimming conditions at the Jersey Shore through Monday evening.  Swimmers are advised to listen to lifeguards and not swim at unguarded beaches.  There already have been a number of drowning deaths at New Jersey beaches due to rip currents.
